Artist Bio
I am primarily a self-taught artist and have always had a passion for
painting. I grew up in Cornwall, England where I was inspired by the
intrinsic beauty of the dramatic rocky coastlines and quaint Cornish fishing
villages bathed in clean, crisp light. I became fascinated at an early age
with the thriving artistic movement centered largely around St.Ives and
Newlyn and still continue to visit these towns on my annual pilgrimage to
Cornwall.
I have lived in Summit County, CO for almost 18 years and although the
subject matter for my landscape paintings may be different from my native
Cornwall I find many similarities in the quality of light found here.
My landscape works are painted primarily in acrylics which, as well and
being permanent and lightfast, are well suited to my painting technique,
since their fast drying time means they can be applied quickly and reworked
in multiple layers.
All artwork featured on my site are original paintings. I use 11/2" deep
gallerywrap canvas and paint the sides to make framing optional. Limited
edition Giclee prints are also available in many size options - please call me
to discuss.
The painting “Willowbrook Highlands” won Best of Show at the Summit
County Arts Council Annual Fall Juried Art Show in 2005. I also won the
Summit County Garden Club poster competition in 2007.
Please let me know if you'd like an in-home viewing of any pieces - I can
travel within a 100 mile radius of Breckenridge or mail anywhere in the U.S.
I am happy to work on commissions, usually with no obligation either in
person or by email to provide you with the perfect solution to your
decorating needs- please call me to discuss
